Instant Hot Water
Bulky hot water heaters used to be the only way to get hot water to come out of the faucet but, in recent years smaller,
tankless water heaters have been developed. These tankless water heaters can be installed to provide what is known as instant hot water.
A
traditional water heater operates by heating the water with electric elements or a gas burner and then storing the water in a tank at the desired temperature. A tankless water heater works in the same way only it does not store the water. Instead, it rapidly heats the water when it enters the unit using a device called a heat exchanger, which is facilitated by either electric coils or a gas-fired burner. In this way, you get hot water only when you need it.
Instant hot water relies on a point-of-use heater, meaning that it only provides hot water to one specific outlet, such as a single shower or the kitchen sink. They are small enough to be installed in a cabinet, which is why many people opt to have a tankless heater installed for one specific outlet in the kitchen, where instant hot water is often needed.
If your tankless water heater has stopped working, it may be because the heating coils or burner have burned out. Rainforest Plumbing & Air technicians have the equipment and know-how to repair or install your tankless water heater. Give us a call today at
